We are excited to announce a new format for this year’s Scholarship Auction. There will be a silent auction starting Wednesday as you check in at registration, which will continue until Thursday night just before the start of the Awards Banquet Dinner. This auction will take place in the meeting/dinner room with the auction items displayed on tables around the walls. To bid on a silent auction item, you will place your name badge number, name, and bid amount on the form provided in front of the item.
We will then hold our traditional live auction after dinner with only about 12-15 items. The live auction will be shorter and focus on “large ticket” items. All items for both the silent and live auction will consist of articles you provide, so please remember to bring something! You can drop off your items off at registration check-in. “Nice” items or “gag” items are appropriate, but should be in good taste.
You can help us increase the anticipation for the auction! Once you secure an item or items to be donated to the auction, please send an email with your name, your ITE section, a description of your item, and a photograph of the item if possible to firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional emails will be sent prior to the Annual Meeting to promote the auction. We want to build anticipation by showcasing items that are going to be featured in the auction. For example…
This year, the Officers’ Reception (sponsored by the Business and Consultant Groups) will be held in the same room as the Annual Banquet in order to encourage additional bidding on the silent auction items. As always, proceeds from this auction benefit the joint ALSITE/DSITE 2015 scholarship fund.
