On Thursday, March 7, 2013, the Alabama Section of ITE held its Spring Meeting at the Anniston Museum of Natural History in Anniston, Alabama. It was a destination that is not on our normal rotation of meeting locations, and we all had a wonderful time. We heard several very interesting technical presentations that covered a wide variety of topics.
The Spring Section Meeting plays host to the Traffic Bowl Competition between the ITE Student Chapters of Auburn, Alabama, and UAB – with the winner of the competition moving on to the Southern District ITE Traffic Bowl Competition. If you have never seen a Traffic Bowl match, you need to check one out. It follows the same format of the game show “Jeopardy”, with the questions all being transporation related. For the second consecutive year, the “double jeopardy” round ended in a tie between Auburn and Alabama. This year, Auburn pulled out the victory, and moved on to Southern District.
The 2013 ALSITE Annual Meeting will be held at the Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama on Wednesday, June 5 through Friday, June 7. Be on the lookout for more details on that meeting, as we celebrate 40 years of ALSITE!
